Default Neutral Safety Switch

How do you test a neutral safety switch? How do you know when it is bad?

When your vehicle will start with the car in gear... or when your gear selector will not move with your foot on the brake (could be the brake pedal switch, too though).

Yeah, I guess it could be. If the switch is stuck in the position that keeps the car thinking its in gear instead of in part, sure.
