Default Negative wire seized nut - torch it?

Hey guys, my 88 4.9 needs the negative wire replaced, but the nut attatched to the starter is seized. I was wondering if I could torch it. The front tank is empty (rust) and Ive soaked it with pb blaster. Good to go or will I get a boom?

Any other ideas? The damned thing is stripped pretty bad also. I sincerly appreciate any help - thanks.

Why don't you just take the starter off with the wire that way it will be easier to mess with and if need be, torch it without having to worry about blowing your truck up.

The bolt that secures the negative connection also holds the starter in place. Its the nut UNDER the starter, that goes directly to the battery, thanks.

ah I see.. Well I guess that's your best bet then if pb blaster didn't work.. Sorry I can't be of more help. It should be fine as long as you aren't torching your fuel lines

Use a cutoff wheel and cut a slot in it, that relieves the tension an it should come off
