Default need some help

i have a couple questions i just bought a 91 f150 the body is alittle dinged up but overall the trucks in pretty good shape.. the guy i got it from told me the motor was rebuilt and it now has 100k on it the motor runs flawless so far. no smoke no knock or anything.

he also said the transmission had been rebuilt 5000 miles ago with a Superior Transmissions shift kit added. my question is with the shift kit in the truck is it suppose to slam in gear? it slams 1st and 2nd 3rd is easy and then o/d hits hard. is this suppose to be right? i know nothing about automatic transmissons i checked the fluid and its full the torque converter was also replaced. thanks

yes, they slam hard. if he didnt have receipts he could be hiding some thing. everyone says things are new just to get rid of it. but if does it frees up some pressure so to say and shifts faster making it slam into gear. it helps from wearing up clutch plates .ish.

It's not good if it slams into gear really hard, but faster shifts without a hard bang is good for the transmission. Less slippage and less heat. You can try adjusting the downshift cable.
