Default Need new shocks !

Who can give me a recommendation for the best shocks for my 1995 F-150 2WD? Something that might help reduce body roll during high speed turns.

I'm with you. 175K on my originals. Just ordered fresh Monroes. Don't have them on yet to suggest specific application, but yes, the right shocks will help body roll compared to worn shocks.

Thanks Cornfield. I think the member that responded just ahead of you was right, though. I'm gonna need sway bars as well as shocks. How much were those Monroes you ordered?

I like to upgrade worn parts, but decided to save this round. Went with Monroe gas magnums. I have factory dual shocks up front, so cost was more of a factor this time. Replaced springs with 3/4 ton also.

Found the shocks on Amazon for much less than local shops.
Model 34729 for 32.08 each and free shipping. Also found promo code for 11% off entire order. Decent shock for good prices. Just waiting for them to show up.

I just bought the $19 Gabriel Guardian red shocks from Autozone. They seem to be doing the job just fine. The truck is my back-up vehicle, and the shocks that were on it were shot. I know there is a whole bunch of opinions on the subject of shocks, but for the price, they keep the truck from bouncing down the road and they seem firm enough in the turns.

Get the blue $20 monroes they are just as good as the more expensive ones they just lack appearance and are painted cheaply...a extra coat of paint wouldnt hurt..lol, but they ride better than gabriel imo.

Update... Gas magnums installed up front. Tested on hwy, pothole-riddled streets, gravel roads, and frozen fields. HUGE improvement over worn originals..duh. Not bad for the $. Definitely not OME quality offroad, but impressive enuf overall. No regrets. Tightened control with newer 3/4 ton coils.

x2 on the Gabriels based on past experiences. They belong on Fiestas, Horizons, Pacers, etc.

I went with the Motorcraft 3/4 ton units on my 1/2 ton 2wd. Pretty happy with them.
