Default Need a ladder thing?

So I used to have a Jetta before. Low to the ground and I could reach everything in the engine with my little hands. Haha I am 5'3" and in this truck I attempted doing my spark plugs, rotor and dist cap but holy crap! How do you people even reach the back plugs??? Even with the step stool or standing on the wheel I need an extension and a ball joint and still can't reach enough to actually work on it. Do I have to make a tree house above the engine??? I am too stubborn to take it in for spark plugs. What do short people do??? Is there a contraption that makes it easier to reach and work on stuff?

When I was younger and shorter I would literally climb into the engine bay to do all the work. That's also what a buddy of mine does (he's 5'6") when he works on his truck. We used to have a bench that could slide around and adjust for height when I worked as an engine installer.

that's a good idea, I never even thought that I wouldn't be able to reach anything, it's kind of embarrassing!! I can probably make something to hold me, I only weigh 115. I was kind of thinking about getting a narrow table and making like 6 inches taller than the top of the engine bay and laying on that. I was just wondering what other people do because not everyone is 6'2" haha

Theres another member on here that's 5'2" if I remember correctly and her truck has like 12" of lift and running on 40" tires. I know she does all her own maintenance and mods, I wonder how she is dealing with the vertical issue lol

I've seen something posted before that like you lay over your tire and it creates like a step.

EDIT: something like this

I'm 6'4" so I don't need it (yet) but I can see how it would be useful!
