Did you check for codes? That's the first place to start with a mystery problem.

Fuel pressure and O2 sensors would be my first stop on the road to diagnosis.

Check fuel pressure and check for fault codes. An 02 sensor problem would be picked up by the ECM. You could throw a filter at it, but you're not diagnosing. Just replacing parts which is a bad road to go down. If you don't have manual already, I would suggest sinking a few bucks in that.

Knuckle under is when the tie rod and drag link associated tie rod ends are removed. The steering knuckles are then reamed to specification (7°) from the top down. Everything is then mounted on top of the steering knuckle. This mounts the tie rod 2" higher for clearance purposes.
