Default Need help with diagnosis

I've got a 93 f150 4x4 with the 5.8 v8.. I've put 2,000 miles on this truck since I've had it the last month or more, sometimes when I'm driving it will act like it's going to die and when I put my foot in the gas sometimes it will power through it immediately and sometimes if just keeps acting like it will die and won't accelerate.. Then when I put the pedal down it will eventually get over it and I'lll be able to keep on going like normal, sometimes it does it once a day sometimes it won't do it at all.. Any ideas? I haven't tuned it up or anything yet

A full tune up is the easy place to start. Cap, rotor, wires, plugs, fuel filter, injector cleaner, air filter and clean out the throttle body. Check for any codes too

I did a complete tune up first, figured out what needed replacing mechanically and did that, then I did body work and interior last

hook up a fuel pressure gauge, run the gauge under the hood, tape the gauge somewhere to the outside of the windshield. drive the truck, watch the gauge when it acts up, if pressure falls or stumbles most likely a bad fuel pump or clogged filter, just a place id start with.

Suggest to pull the codes to see if the computer has flagged anything.

I agree with all the suggestions... do not overlook gas. I used cheap gas once and my truck ran alot like what yours is doing.

do a basic tune up first,,plugs, wires, cap & rotor. Also change the fuel filter. Also, a fuel presure regulator could be shot. Good idea to do a tune up anyways unless you know one was just done for some reason. Still, a bad plug can be a fairly new plug, not usually but can happen. The pressure regulators on these r cheap, 20 bucks for my 87 5.0 with 1 yr warranty from Autozone or OReilys.
