Welcome to the site!

Some mods that will wake that motor up are: An exhaust, CAI, and a tuner.

All of those will help with performance one way or another.

Well, I don't mean to offend anybody who likes the 300 CID I6, but I would definately replace that with a rebuilt 302 or bigger engine. the V8 powered F-150 from 95 were praides for acceleration, and the 6 cylinder ones were scorned for bad acceleration

Not sure what it is about putting loud exhausts on an inline six, be it the Ford 300 or the Jeep 258, but they end up sounding like an old tractor motor to me.

Of course, it could be a user-application error.

the 300 Six is probably one of the best engines ford ever put in a vehicle. I would keep it simple..tune up and seafoam the top end.

I would put the 300 in a tug o war against a stock 302 any day. They have better bottom end torq.
