great looking truck, i did just about the same thing also this past summer, but i used a 86 diesel f250 frame and i'm using the truck as a fun toy so i didnt bother to go into a bunch of detail with the painting and cleaning.

FYI::: i'm sure you know, but make sure you have a 3/4t brake booster on it!!! imy intentions were to get one, but i didnt feel like shelling out the cash for it, lucky me i live wayout on a gravel road, needless to say i have one in it now.

Just removed the carpet from my truck. It was beat, torn, faded and smelly... now I can't decide if I want line-x and Powered By Ford mats or new carpet. Thinking line-x due to the amount of dirt I track around! Anyone used linex/rhino liner/DIY Bed liner?

91351- I would love to go with a solid front axle but the Dana 50 already has an air locker in it and I would LOVE to keep the locker.

fordtrucknut- I saved the 250 brake booster and master cylinder from the 250 cab before I hauled it off to the scrap yard. I pulled everything I thought I might need off of it.

MONSTERPRE- thanks man. Here at the end of the month the build will get put on hold for seven weeks. I'm going from Fl to Va for a millitary acadamy. But after that well be back at it.

Kickprivate- I love my carpet, but than again my interior is super clean.

I used herculiner on the floor of my jeep cherokee. I figured it would be easy to clean and tough. Well it was tough, but it was a bit*h to clean! You had to vacuum it thren scrub it to get it clean. Plus it was insanely loud inside and the floor would get so hot you could cook eggs on it. I hated it! maybe it would be different in a pickup but I wouldnt try it again. If you did a diy bedliner and then put carpet over it it wouldnt be bad. I just know that with just the bedliner I was ready to swerve into a bridge abutment on a trip longer than 5 miles. It was so miserable to drive. You might try some of that lizard skin stuff I keep hearing about they have a ceramic heat resistant kind and a noise reducing kind. IDK how tough it is tho. Let us know whatever you try.

That truck looks great. I have a 95 extended cab F150 with a 351W that I am considering ripping apart and having the frame sandblasted and all cleaned up and rebuilding the engine. Any advice you have for attempting this? How long did this project take from start to finish? I am on a budget but I want to do a quality job as I plan to keep the truck as my daily driver.

Great looking build!!! Except for the auto transmission, I would love to do the same thing with my truck. Probably not as far on the engine due to it being a daily driver, but a few things
