Default MSD Box Location

Has anyone mounted a MSD box under the hood of their truck? If so where did you mount the unit. I cannot seem to fins a clean location to mount the box.

yes I have let me take a pick and show you...

here you go....

if you look to the top right of the air cleaner lid you'll see a black wire with a yellow crimp connector..this is the ground wire for the MSD box..this is in a factory screw hole..all I did was sand off the paint for a good connection...the other power (+ positive) wire went to the hot side of the solenoid...

Thank you very much. Two quick questions. Did you run the Batt wire all the way to the Batt or is there a closer Hot point? And I cannot quite see if you screwed the unit down, or is it just wedged into place?

The unit is screwed down via self tapping sheet metal screws 1in long...all four points

here you go...

I added to the Positive wire and ran it to the HOT side of the Solenoid...you want it to be direct as possible and not splice it into something else drawing power...this way the box gets a good clean amount of power...and nothing else is pulling power from the box...IE: dont splice into another something using heavy gauge wire to get the power...this will effect performance...

then I just pulled the other wires just like the directions...I put the wire in the old Coil connector via Spade connectors (speaker connectors) and then ran the others to the coil....works very well...

Great. I have mounted the MSD on other cars, so I had found the spot you used for power. I was just wondering if there was a usable spot closer to the unit. Thanks again for your help.

what do you mean...? the pics clearly show the positive and negative main power leads...the others should be dont as in the directions...using the white and red leads hooked to the coil connector....the orange and black hook to the coil where the connector used to hook up...simple as that...
