There is prob a few thousand threads about this but here I go.

About a week ago i noticed that she was having a miss under load. And now it seems to be getting alot worse to where its missing to where its like studdering under load. Usually happens when i take off from a stop lights and i dont get on it and lug it or anytime i lug it.

I need a fuel filter any ways so i was ganna go ahead and get that. Its not throwing any codes except for egr insuffenciant flow but i have had that code forever ever since i got the truck and its never missed out. ( long tube headders)

Loose ignition connections maybe? Like plug wires?

Put new cap and rotor along with plug and wires about 3 years ago but only have 20k miles since then.

If it was a loose wire or something would it not miss all the time and not just under a load?

Ill have to get a fuel pressure tester and a volt meter to check those.

replace the cap and rotor.... you get moisture and it causes spark scatter... and is aggravated by loading...

you can clean the current one for a test

thats the best bet....

beings the distributor cap has a Vent Hole.... if the bushing have any wear in the shaft crankcase moisture will seep and form in the cap instead of going through the PCV valve....

When i took the cap off there was fine dust like metal in there every where. Cleaned the rotor and contacts off and it help a bit. Went to auto zone and picked up a new cap and rotor so ill be putting that in after i change out my radius arm bushings.
