Your truck is haunted. Chances are the previous owners loved it so much when they traded it in they had a heart attack over what they bought and died now you have ghosts lol.

Seriously though that is weird man. Blew the power steering pump cover off lmao!

you know i would not doubt it after a weekend of it sitting in my spot the odometer had gained 800 miles i was so pissed but dumbfouded on how that can possably happen i only have one key for the ignition and a kill switch along with a 195db car alarm that did not go off at all. im the 3rd owner the last was a punk kid and before him was an old man who did actually pass a way its amazing what you can find from car fax! his kids sold it to a dealer in new york to pay for the expenses then the last kid beat on it for a month or 2 then his father had to sell it for him he never told me why. when ever i fix something on the truck it just feels like new for a day or two like i fixed the rear speakers it ran like a top for a week straight that and it was infested with spiders when i got it too. My uncle who had been working on cars for over 50 years now gets stumped when i tell him what went on today.

I am also man. It is just weird and odd. Gremlins? Find any of those in there? Maybe Gizmo is hiding in the back gas tank and coming out to mess with you bro.

800 miles gained you say? I would be checking my wiring big time especially the ones that control the odometer.

well i think the ecc being in fail safe mode for oh 6 months if finally catching up to me I checked the odometer wires almost all the harness so far nothing except the ecc being bad. the power steering is just rell messed up i do notice if i dont give it some extra gas while turning the wheel entirely left or right it wants to stall out on me. could that cause the pump cap to blow? or for that matter what causes pump caps to blow off like that?
the odometer is no big deal its not like im ever going to sell my truck 3rd owner only 134,000 -800 miles and the amount of cash i got in it its imposable to break even id need to get 4,500 just for the work i did for it LOL

I have no idea what would cause the pump cap to blow bro. I have never even heard of that man. It just weird wild stuff bro lol. How is the fluid in the pump? Steering okay when driving? Pump squealing? I mean other then normal Ford sqeelige lol.

We will never break even on our vehicles man. We have to much love into them which is priceless.

sterrings fine the fluid is nice and cherry red like i just added some in. the only thing that's strange is when i turn the wheels full one way it makes the engine want to stall the rmps drop sometimes it even stalls on me. but once again thinking it has to do with the fail safe mode not compensating for the drop in rpms.

AHHmen brother I love my truck hell my fired just bought his first truck back the things in bad shape all the panels are bent the doors are hard to shut and theres so much rust but he loves it so much he bought it back and just put 1000 bucks worth of tires on it along with some other cool stuff

Do you have have MAF or MAP? Check for codes besides the ecu man. This could all be caused by the ecu also. Might be time for you to get a used one man.

MAP is on the back firewall and will have a vacuum line running to it. MAF is on the airbox tube going to the throttle body. Also check your IAC man.
