map to maf questions
I've been trying to do some looking on here about doing a map to maf conversion for my truck. I have a 1993 f150 with the 5.0 and I'm fairly positive it's aod trans. I was wondering if anyone has a specific write up for this mod. I.e. What specific parts I need, what donor I should use, and pretty much a drawn in crayon directions lol. I'm on a pretty tight budget and will be getting these parts a little at a time. Do I need to make sure I get all the parts from the same truck?
I've seen the kits on here, but I really don't want to spend 500 bucks all at once. Lol thanks for all the help guys!

From what I was reading, it frees up a little power, gets better mpg, and it adjusts to other mods better. If this is incorrect or I misread something please please let me know
MAF is a mass air flow sensor, it tells your computer how much air is being drawn into your engine. Its located in the air horn of your throttle body. Intake air is drawn through it. MAP is manifold air pressure (intake). It tells the computer how much air that is being drawn into your engine by determining the pressure in your intake manifold. It is located on the fire wall next to the heater box with vacuum hoses connected to it, as well as an electric plug.
MAP- Manifold Absolute Pressure. It reads the pressure inside the intake and bases the fuel and. ignition curves from that.
MAF-Mass Air Flow. There is a sensor between the air box and throttle body that measures how much air is sucked it. The computer adjusts the fuel curves from that. MAF is better for intake mods.
