Manual lock front hubs problems!

Default Manual lock front hubs problems!

i have an 86 f150 with manual lock front hubs and im trying to replace the front gears! i removed the driverside manual lock mechanism with no problem it just wiggled right out, but the other side is not budging at all any suggestions on what to do? Is there a proper tool to get it out without damaging it?

well if you removed the lock ring and you're talking about the hub assembly, then i'd suggest hitting it with a large mallet..lol

I removed the lockring and the center of the assembly, tried to used some picks to try and wiggle it out also a few hammers with lots of oil to try and loosen it but no luck!

still cant get the hub assembly to budge! Has anyone heard of a hub assembly getting stuck to the hub?

well i couldnt get the hub assembly out it some how got seized to the hub casing, so i had to cut it out! but luckily have a parts truck with a new one.

There are 2 lock rings. one big one that goes around the inside of the hub housing and a small snap ring in the center where the axle comes out.

They are not the factory ford hubs it was a warn it didnt have the center snap ring! but now i am going back to the factory hubs
