Default MAF started in what year?

Excuse my ignorance guys, I've always owned 97-up F150's.. anyway we just dropped a very healthy 306 in my dads 93 F150 and he went a little large on cam choice and of course the speed density system hates it! I got it idling pretty good buts its quirky and smells very rich so I know its time to swap out to a MAF system.

Question is, what year did ford start putting the MAF system on these trucks? Can I call up a JY and find a certain year that I can strip parts from? What are my options?

Thanks!

Ok, after searching I think I figured out that SOME trucks got MAF in 94-95...

Now my question/problem is we put a 95 H.O. Roller motor in this truck with an F303 cam, using the 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 firing order. What did the 93 truck computers use for firing order? Was it the old order (1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8)?? or the H.O order?

Its my understanding the trucks were most all batch fire? Does this matter in my application?

I believe the 93' is HO order.

Originally the engines where EFI (Batch fired). Later, about the time MAF entered the picture, they when SEFI (Sequentially fired).

'94-'95 5.0 automatic equipped trucks have MAF and would be compatible to use for your '93.
