Question MAF

While trying to find out if a 1992 Ford F150 5.0 L had MAF there seem to be two different opinions. Yes, they did, or no, not before 1994. Which answer is correct? Thank you.

MAF was optional on 5.0L only in '94; optional on all 3 engines in '95; standard in '96-up.

Why are you asking?

Just look. MAF has that big sensor where the throttle body air tube meets the airbox.

Thank you for your reply. I was trying to find the cause of a persistent stumble when I accelerate. I received codes 111 in KOEO, Conti. and KOER. I now know I do not have MAF. I checked that 7&8 plug wires are well separated, and the fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator are up to specs. Because it does not feel like it stumbles when first started(although I could be wrong) but begins hesitating soon after, and it seems to grow worse as the engine warms up. It starts easily and I do not detect a miss at idle; so I will try to locate and check what temp. sensors send a signal to the computer next. If anyone knows what else has the potential to cause this problem, I would be grateful for the knowledge. Ward .

FYI code 111 is just the system telling you that there are no codes.

The ECT & ACT. Click this & read the caption:

Potentially, hundreds of parts & conditions. "Hesitation" and "stumble" are very vague descriptions; and separating 2 spark plug wires isn't enough - they need to be routed exactly as shown in this diagram:

Get a Haynes manual, and read it cover-to-cover at least once so you know what's in it & where to find things:

Use a light-colored crayon or colored pencil (not a marker because it will soak through the pages) to X out the sections that don't apply to your truck, but still allows you to read them if necessary. Or you could circle the sections that DO apply to yours.

Thanks for the info, I reran the KOEO scan and got 111 for it and continuous, ran the KOER and got a 311; vacuum lines in the thermactor circuit kinked or broken.
I'm in the process of checking the vacuum lines, and solenoids now. Ward
