Default M5OD question

Does anyone have a '92-'96 M5OD transmission that is apart or is familiar with them? I put one in my '87 originally with the TOD 4 speed and it had a mechanical speedometer, but the '92-'96 M5OD has an electronic speedometer. There is a boss in the tailshaft housing where the '88-'91 had the mechanical speedometer which isn't machined to accept the driven gear on the '92-'96. I need to know if the tailshaft has the snap ring groove and dimple for the ball that holds the drive gear in place, or if the '92-'96 has a different tailshaft than the '88-'91. I could just take it apart and look, but I only want to do it once so I have to schedule a shop to machine the housing or find one at the junkyard and don't want to waste time or money if I can't get the gear on there.

This is what it looks like, but this is the 4 speed.
