Default loose steering

my 95 f150 4x4 has alot of steering wheel play. i've had the truck for about 4 years and its just been slowly getting worse. thought it was the gearbox so i replaced that. helped a little but still loose, then i found my lower ball joints were bad and i just replaced those Wednesday but it still wonders. i the tie rod ends seem tight. about the only other thing i haven't replaced on the steering system is the pump but i don't see that causing loose steering. any thoughts?

thanks

New ones shouldn't need adjustment. Check the rag joint on the steering shaft, and also where the shaft bolts to the steering column. Where it bolts to the column wears out and has slop.

DRAG link. Wish I would have known this whenever I replaced my longer steering arm. That was a PAIN!
