Default Long tubes with MAF

I'm looking at getting some long tube headers for my 96 f150 5.0 automatic. I have heard before that the long tube headers will affect my O2 sensors getting the proper reading. Does anyone have any experience with this? I dont wanna spend the money on something that will possibly hurt performance. thanks

Just get a collector with the o2 bung welded in, it puts the sensor in basically the same place as the stock one, lots of mass air vehicles use long tubes.

The EGR tube can just dangle where it's at, or you can be fancy and weld it into the exhaust pipe.

is plugging it bad? because i was told by someone that when its sucking in fresh air rather than the exahust it can make your motor run too rich or lean

Yours is a 5.0 so that pulls exhaust from under the upper intake right?

Sorry, I was thinking smog pump tube......

No, the EGR tube on these connects to the lower intake.

The tube on my 302 connects to the crossover tube in the back of the head, or somewhere back there, not the intake, leave the egr system, it has no effect on performance, it just looks ugly.
