I have brand new stock housings, thats probably why. And 5000k pure white bulbs

That's it. The high/lo doesn't work too well when trying to go through all the light diffusers and what not on the lens

Also food for thought:

If it gets foggy in your area, HID's will render useless on the high side of 5000k+
So foglights are not a bad idea in that situation. The blueish light will just illuminate the fog, where as yellow light will cut right through it as there is less yellow surface on the moisture.
This is inverse in dusty conditions, yellow light will reflect back off of dust particles where as blue will just be absorbed, resulting in light shooting farther without blinding the driver as much.

My explanations may be off but the issue is correct.
