Default to lift or to lower

i have a 1989 f150 2wd and i was debating either to lower a few inches or to lift an inch or 2...im iffy about lifting it because im guessing it was will slide around more in the winter because it is terrible in the winter but i love the way older f150s look like lifted, i also like the way lower trucks look especially older ones, idk what is your opinion on the matter?

I say lift, I have a 90 2wd and I just put a 4" lift on it and I think its bad*****. Then again I do take mine out in pastures and take it huntin and stuff so I couldn't lower mine or else id bottom out in some places or my bumper would catch. Seeing as you want some good winter tires then I wouldn't lower it. You could just level it.

Normally I would say 2wd lower and 4wd lift, but it also depends on how you use the truck. You won't be able to haul as much if you lower it. By the way, the ride height isn't going to make it slide more or less but will make it more likely to roll over if lifted.
