leveling kit
Does anybody know of a leveling kit for a 90 f150 2wd. I found 1 on summit that said 2wd in info but when i went to application it said 4wd does that matter? I just want coils no airshocks.
Thanks. What do yall think about combining this leveling kit with a superlift 1-2 inch add a leaf kit, and a 1 inch coil spacer in the front. Also what size tires could i fit on it if i did this?
My son has a 1987 F150 2wd shortbed--we bought a pair of Gabriel "spring shocks"--a Gabriel shock with a small coilover spring on top half, supposed to add 300lbs payload capacity to front--it will lift your truck about 1-2" in the front (ours lifted 1.5") and leveled it nicely--in fact a couple folks have said they thought it was a 4wd (factory lift) at first glance--he also runs 30" RWL AT tires on black Pacer rims with large chrome center caps and lug nuts which adds to "the illusion"--we bought the Gabriels at J.C. Whitney for @ $75 shipped two months ago.
BTW--Had camber measured before/after with no changes of measurable consequence..will look up PN for you onanother forum where I was told about them...

ok--here is PN from Gabriel as well as JC Whitney...we had them on a 77 F-100 also....worked just as well there--in fact same PN and application...these are for FRONT, not rear--they make them for both...
JC WHitney Pn for the Gabriel front spring/shocks is: 1JA 851976
Gabriel # is still 34058
Good Luck--its a fast and dirty "almost" fix for that hightail look the stock F series has from 87-93--Doug

Thanks... what if i lifted the front up 2 1/2 inches with new coils(1 1/2) and coil spacers(1) and the rear with 2 inch blocks, would i need anything else to go with that to finish it or would i just need those 3 things?
the problem with lifting an I-beam front end is after @ 2" of lift on front the camer gets way too positive. And the I-beam front end is a factory set camber unless you can find an "old school" alighnment shop that will heat and bend the I-beams/spindle ends. You can buy buy drop spindles but they are very pricey....that's why we just went with a front leveling -made a very nice diff at 1.5"--good luck DOUG

Why do people level their trucks? They were supposed to be lower in the front from the factory so they ride level with a load in the back. Now your truck is gonna look stupid anytime you carry something because your *** end will be squatting like a dog taking a **** but I digress...
No, that gives the illusion of POWAHHHHH when you leave a stop light :p
I want to level mine, because I think level looks better, and really, the few times I'm ever gonna load her down and look stupid are outweighed by looking good always
