Default LED tail lights?

Is such a thing made for our trucks? I haven't found them. If not, I'll try and "create" my own.

You can replace the bulb itself with a 3157 type replacement for the taillight and a 3156 for backup to go into whatever style of housing you want. You should be highly selective to make sure you get a quality led that is bright enough, that projects correctly, actually fits into the housing, and doesn't quickly fade as sometimes is the case. I would make sure to get the SMD type of LEDs, as they tend to be much brighter. Also be aware that standard bulbs have a certain "resistance" that typically isn't on led bulbs. That affects your flasher module to "hyperblink" rapidly. So you may have to put a resister on the line to account for that. When I look to replace bulbs with led, I will go to backup lights, license plate, third brake, interior lights, etc. that don't require blinking, as it's not worth the hassle for what you get.

Thank you for the info! I'll probably buy the all clear tails and put the LED bulbs in. I'd rather try and find a pre-made setup before I go that route.

FYSA, on my '93, I got the flasher and installed LEDs in brake lights. However, ABS light would go on and stay on until I turned on my turn signal. I wound up replacing the LEDs with some Sylvania Platinums, non-LEDs and the ABS light does not come on now.

YMMV, but if you start throwing an ABS light on your dashboard, just go back to non-LEDs.

The vendor revived a 5-year-dead thread.

To cure the ABS light, cruise control inoperability, shift lock, or trailer brake lockup after swapping all brake bulbs.to LED, simply solder a resistor from anywhere on the brake circuit to ground.

Ive got a bag full of resistors, i dont mknd the hyperblink at all, mkne ks almost twice the normal speed is all. and like i said i dont mind it at all. i dont even notice it unless i stare at it. sk dont let that skeer you any. of course to soldering in your resistors would take you 4 kf em 1 for each blinker if i recall correctly. only issue is i hear they can get hot so dont beat glue them to the back of your tail lights.

you can do wbat some of us did and thats some Aux lighting mounted down low in back, tie em directly into your back up lights. kts awesome being able to see at night with windows up abd theyre max law tinted you cant beat them either jf you trailer much. and you can get some pretty good ones thru Rigid D2s etc but theyre a tad spendy, make sure mounted low pointing down, if theyre Rigids. too bright, blind the man behind you so he csn wreck right into you. or buy some knockoffs for 40 bucks and wiring kit and relay from Amazon or the likes. the wiring kit is IF you want seperate control over the light as well. mine are tied in rev lights as well srandalone harness so i can do both food for thought. nothing beats being able to see fwd and bwd..Its a beautiful thing.. seeing lol
