Default ladder / lumber rack

im looking for a ladder / lumber rack. problem is that i use my truck for work and have a diamond plate tool box at the front of my bed, right behind the cab and all the ladder racks ive looked at will require me to shift my tool box back at least 8 inches or more, that will kill a lot of space, not to mention how stupid it will look. do i have any other options, other than trying to make one myself.

Have someone with a welder modify one. I got my rack from the junkyard for $50 and modified it a little.

I think they might make them to accomodate a tool box. I have seen several people in my area with ladder racks and tool boxes that mount over the bed rail.

I was looking over what is available you could not have a rack made as cheap as some of these. There are a couple of them that have secure storage that could take the place of your present storage box. Check out the Quick Rack I think that one would work for you, it is one of the cheapest.$299.00 (the top most link) The second link is to Pro Rack w/Toolbox Brackets.on sale for $269.00 Dollars This one will work the tool box fits into a bracket that has the front rack mounts incorporated into ithttp://www.aztrucks.com/product.asp?product=600

If I wanted to put a tool box on my truck the rack would push it back only about two inches.

The one I like is a Hawaii Sawhorse rack. When you are not using it as a truck rack it become a really nice saw horse.

Here's mine:

The tool box wouldn't be much further back than it would be without it.
