Default killing low speed torque

Dr. Bowtie
Your advice about not going bigger than 2.25" exhaust for 300 I6, is that same for changing 2 factory cats to 1 high flow cat, such as magnaflow universal? I've been thinking to do that, when present cats need changing, and NJ now checks emissions from OBD II plug only.
In same vein, what will the emissions computer think about the high flow cat? My 1996 came with california emissions package.
Thanks in advance for all thoughts.

It will be fine. The single combines the dual into one.
