It's a good mod to do if you want to get rid of all your emissions. I did the ac and smog delete with the 800k6 belt. The engine idles a little smoother for me, and I might gain a little but the engine compartment is a lot tidier. The main benefit is ridding all the emissions. If you do this, you might as well do away with your egr and cat's too.

^ I'd agree with that. The tensioner is going to put the same amount of tension on the entirety of the belt no matter where the pulleys are located and how much the pulleys make contact. And if that much difference wears out your alternator, you needed a new one anyhow.

broke white boy
more of the belt touching is more force on the pulley
oh and by the way you should also change the belt in the pic too. looks alittle warn

The force against the pulley you are speaking of is called friction and is a good thing, I don't have to worry about the alternator slipping.
I'm still running that belt. It's actually brand new but got thrown a few times. Took me a while to figure out it was the power steering pump doing it.

The belt is just an 800k5 now But yea I have no problems and I have the same belt setup. If the alternator pulley and bearings are in good shape to begin with you shouldn't have any problems with this setup.
