Default just another small fuel problem

something ain't right turn key on fuel pumps come on one at a time depending on switch but they don't stop pumping. pressure is good but drops soon as switch is off and won't start now if anyone knows the problem (other than me not knowing what i'm doing) sure would appreciate the help

Sounds to me like a bad fuel pump relay that is sticking. It will be in the fuse box under the hood.

I just got mine fixed it would start run for a minute then die and wouldn't want to fire up, the sensor was broken and kept shuttin off my fuel.

What "sensor" are you referring to?

got it running but fouls plugs out fast still think it's fuel prob plugs get sooty black but not oily only paid 500 for truck with mostly new parts so gotta get it going ..looks too good to sit

You need to check fuel pressure at the rail. I'm thinking your Fuel Pressure Regulator is Pooched, making you to run too rich.

Also state the year & engine in your posts, as you never filled out that info in your profile page either.

I agree that the regulator might be toast (pooched) or it could be a broken injector.

Not unless the sooting is unique only to that cylinder. If experiencing sooting globally (all plugs) it's not a stuck injector.

it's a 1991 f150 4.9 inline six has a new regulator and all the plugs foul out so don't think it's limited to just one injector pressure checks 55lbs with switch on and 60 lbs running . do appreciate the feedback .

Mines also a 91 f150, it was my MAP sensor that got changed now its running like a champ again
