Default inspection time!

quick question for y'all.. I need a new cat to pass the PA emissions tests and I wanted to install it myself to save some cash.. I have been seeing 2 styles of direct fit cat systems for my truck ('96 4.9l). One having only one cat and what looks like an 02 port at the split and one after, and then the other having two cats and two definite 02 ports.. I want to buy this one: http://www.partsgeek.com/qlq2bsy-for...converter.html
but obviously i wont if it doesnt fit.. the other one:
http://www.partsgeek.com/gbproducts/...FQSg4AodRWEA5A
is the one ive been seeing a lot of.. i know they went to mandatory OBDII in '96, but im not sure if this has anything to do with it. will the first one work? its way cheaper!thank you in advance!

Cats don't have O2 ports on them, just the smog pump pipe.

Yea, but the cats im trying to buy are the direct fit systems that come with the flanges off the manifold, down to the y pipe and into the cat(s). just wanted to know if the system with only one cat will work with my '96 that currently has the two cat system on it. the pics in the links show pics of the two different styles, both of which say its compatible with my truck

I can't enlarge the image. '96 would have two O2 sensors before the cat. You could have an exhaust shop modify the cheaper one to fit two sensors in the correct place, and they would have to seal off the single in the wrong place.

yea, thats why i thought it was odd that the fitment says "OE replacement" and added that its pretty much plug and play and didnt require any welding/cutting. i just want to make sure if im going to drop 300-400 on a new exhaust (even though thats cheap) that it will pass emissions. so just to make sure, the stock 96s have 3 O2s? 2 before and 1 after? the cheap one looks as if it only has one before and one after

All '96 have three, all the rest have one. Not including California trucks.
