Default Idol problems!!

i just got my truck back on the road this week after a month of sitting, and now when i start it the idol is fine for about 2 mins, then it goes way up to 2500 rpm's....any ideas on what this could be and how to fix it??

Default check your TPS

I had a problem like that on a 85 Tbird, the idle was pretty rough, seemed to do whatever the hell it wanted to do. I changed out the throttle position sensor and bam, problem was gone... easy fix

Could be your IAC valve is sticking- It may have stuck due to sitting. If it does it again you can try to clean it but be careful when you do it.

yeah i adjusted the timing today on my truck and got it right on centerd, but when i shut my truck off i decided to start it again and check the timing, it was off by at least a quater inch, what the hells going on? i put marks on the distributor cab so i could now when it was perfectly timed (for future reference) and the marks were still ling up.
