Count the plug wires on the distributor. 6+1 coil wire=6 cyl./4.9 or smaller/// 8+1 coil wire= 8 cyl./5.0 or larger. Any more or less, somebody else's vehicle w/o an alarm system, RUN!!!!!

Lol. I'm actually trying to determine if mines a 5.0 or 5.8. I can obviously tell its a v8. I bought my truck as a repo so I have no original info.

The OP may be a different story though

There should be a permanent sticker on the cover of the air filter housing w/ vehicle specific info. plug gap, vac system diagram, base timing setting ect. It's probably there. There's an info sticker on the drivers door jam. Tranny,tires, yada,yada......

Yup. My speedo has said 47MPH for 55MPH as long as I remember for my 31"s.
