I've run next to a Gen1 Lightning who had the speedo buried on his truck.....when you hit the rev limiter, let off the gas then mash it down again.....should get past it...mine did anyways. (Gen1 L speedo goes to 120)

The Rev limiter cuts me off at about 90 mph. Just as well, because I'm usually on a rode trip w/ a 700lb. bike strapped to the bed when it's put to use. Anything over 75 mph, my auxiliary rev limiter kicks in anyway (Girlfriend). I've yet to find a way around that one! Except when she nods off.
she hides in the back seat when we go thru Chicago....usually over 100mph down the expressway...thats just keeping up....
well honestly i am leading the pack

I might be wrong, but I would be surprised if a regular F150 with a 302 would even reach 100 mph. Those engines don't make enough HP in stock form to push such heavy trucks with such a huge frontal area.
Way back in the dawn of time I once raced a guy in my '61 Buick Electra convertible. He was driving a slightly newer Electra 4 door hardtop. We went side by side unable to pass each other with the speedo showing 110. They used to have a sort of cruise control which was an alarm you could set to go off when the speedo hit a selcted speed. The max speed you could set it to was 105 mph. My 4 hole Buick was screaming for a mile before I backed off the pedal. Those things had a 401 cu. in. motor and tall gears and I don't believe they could actually hit 120, even with the better aerodynamics. I can't see a regular truck going faster than that.
You wanna go fast? Try this:

the F150 is 1000#s lighter than the GM counterpart...
my truck weighs 3800 pounds...very little rolling resistance to drag...meaning it takes little power to sustain mph....
these trucks only require 35horsepower to sustain 55mph and they come with 185hp factory that will hit 130mph pretty easy...
my 88 GM that weighs 4900 pounds (c-2500) has the stock engine with headers and mild tune and hits 135mph easy with a full throttle upshift valve...there are no ECM limiters in those year trucks...
not as quick as a vette nor as fast...still fast enough to get you killed...lol
my 95 300-6 has no rev limiter....it just goes...

A strong 85's fine w/ me. After that, it's more like aiming a projectile than driving. Up I-5 through Cal. to Oregon is almost straight dead north w/ few if any curves, & zero scenery. So that's when I do my higher speed stuff, through both tanks nonstop.
