Default I really need help

I have a 93 f150 4.9[300 c.i.] auto,ps.pb ac 111,000 miles. The paint is falling off but this truck has been a good one and I like it. 2 days ago i heard the starter not disengaging. It hung up about 5-6 seconds This happened about every third start.By today the starter would not stop cranking even though the motor was running with ignition off and keys removed. I had to yank off the positive battery cable to make it stop.I put on a new starter solenoid. No luck.Put on a new ignition switch and new starter. I still had to yank off the battery cable.I took everything off and put it back on.I checked all fuses and relays, traced wires, used a jumper wire on starter, bypassed ignition switch. Still no luck. I am stumped.I am an old guy in my mid 60"s and have jacked with automotive stuff since I was 9 or 10. I dont really understand all this new electronic stuff but I try.I put it all back together. Now it starts ok and acts like it has no problems. What the heck.I cant trust my truck till I figure this out.Sugestions please!! I NEED HELP!! Thanks----Rod

Hello Rod,

I had a similar issue a while back.

I added some accessories and I was using the solenoid as a power source. Three solenoids later I found a rusted inline fuse that was connected to the 'noid. As soon as I found and removed the bad fuse the issue resolved.

Double check all your grounds, (remove them and sand them down to make sure they are good) and remove all those fuses that look good to make sure there isn't any hidden rust.

Let us know how it goes.
