IVe posted several times about my lights not working on my 87 f150. The raidio and door buzzer also dont work. And the cab light and cluster lights dont work. Everything else works. I checked with a light tester to see if i was getting power to the light switch. When the switch is off the 2 back wires i think yellow and black light up with the tester. If you pull out one notch the yellow wire still lights up but the black wire shuts off the tester. I have no idea where else to check and i dont want to pay big money to have it fixed. Anybody got any good suggestions on where else to check. Fuses have been checked also. And i replaced the light switch and dimmer switch. Both are brand new and starter silinoid is new

The cab light and radio are on the same fuse. I'm going to ask the obvious, have you checked all the fuses?

Do you have a wiring diagram? The only way to fix an electrical issue is to follow the wiring and check all connections, wires, fixtures, switches, relays and fuses. Based on the symptoms is bet on a short to ground or short to power.

That little ceramic disk at the front of the switch can cause the dash lights not to work, the dimmer coil in there can break or lose connection. Try running a jumper across the terminals for that. And stooooooopid question, did you check your cab light for power, or a blown bulb, an old electritian i worked with, always checked the bulb, then the switch, then the circuit, and about 80% of the time, bulbs.

Not sure about a free one. Fords tech site doesn't go back that far. Hayes manual has them or you might try a Google search. We use AllData at school for older info, but it requires a membership and I can't get to it at home.
