Default hypothetically speaking...

Hypothetically speaking, and I mean very hypothetical, if I wanted to eventually wind up with a f150 with a 4.9L engine, would it be easier to swap the engine into my truck which currently has the 5.0L, or would it be easier to look for a complete truck with the 4.9L? I ask because I'm worried about all the other stuff I'd have to switch if I kept my current truck but put in the 4.9L (radiator, trans, so on)

I've seen a couple on craigslist that are ext cab with the I6, but they're all down in tx or some such bs btw you wouldn't believe how many people will describe their engine as "it's an inline six cyl (v6)" rofl

I have a 92 extended cab with original i6. And the trans will bolt right up from your 5.0 to the 4.9. I did the swap from a 4.9 to the 5.0 in my 90 and kept the same trans. Rad is different tho
