Default HVAC Trouble need help Please!

First time poster. My name is Travis. I have a 91 f-150 with a 302 and auto trans. This truck has had so much work done to it and all I want is the ac to work like it should so heres the deal.

I got a new comp, orifice tube, filter dryer, and flushed the system. What I question is that did I do wrong by flushing the Discharge & Suction Line Hose? The reason I ask is that the line has some "jugs" in them. Whats in the "jugs"? Do I need a new line too since I flushed them? Heres a link for the part sold at the auto store to give you guys a idea of what I am talking about when I say "jugs". As you can see in the lines their are two bulges that look like they could be dryers of some sort. One of the "jugs is wrapped in black foam.

In the old system it kept clogging up my o tube so I wonder if the "jugs are the culprit? That is if they are filled with something and are discharging, causing the clog?

Thanks for any help guys.

K heres an update. I was told that the "jugs" where mufflers. If they are mufflers then would I have hurt them when I ran the flush???? Could junk have been coming off of them and clogged my o tube? Some one help??? I filled the evap and con coils up with mineral spirits and let them soak for 30 min then forced it all out with air. I am now letting it evap overnight. I have not put the new dryer or comp on yet so no worry about leaving the system open. Also someone said that if I vac for more then 15 min that I could burst the bag in the dryer??? I was going to vac for an hour but I wonder about that now. Help is good guys.

You didn't hurt the lines. The clog was probably just crap from the old compressor that wasn't flushed out enough before. You're supposed to vacuum for 30 minutes minimum, any less won't get out all the moisture.

What Sean said...most vacuums I've seen change tone anyways when it's done.

Default Been a while.

Just to update everyone on my ac problem. That very expensive ac machine that we had at my job was clogged up and not working like it should at all. All and all I pissed off a few guys at the auto store, blew up 2 ac compressors, still have no ac. I quit working for jerks and now work on my own. I have never had any ac troubles since I dumped the expensive machine. Now maybe I will get me some working ac this year . Thanks to you awsome guys helping, the junk I was working with, and the junk I was working for I learned a lot, and finally got a good grasp on auto hvac. I was freezing people out last summer. Put it this way. I never had to turn the ac down
