Default How to pull codes?

Hi.

I am still battling the jerking problem on my 92 F-150. It happens at any RPM and speed and I can't tell if its the engine running rough or the trans. It seems most noticeable in overdrive and the overdrive light and switch do not appear to work. I know there is an issue there but think the engine may be missing too. The check engine light is not on. Do I need a code reader in order to read the codes? If it makes any difference the truck has 351W with an E40D automatic trans.

Thank You.

Chris

you dont need a code reader but i recommend getting a digital one because counting the flashes of the check engine light gets confusing if you do it without the code reader

take a look at the stickey up top, how to retreave trouble codes, and all you need is a jumper wire.
