Default How does the Search function work?

I've been trying to use the search function to find information before asking questions, but it doesn't seem to work very well, certainly not like other forums.

For example, I tried searching code 84, and then "code 84", and then "code" & "84", but it pulls up hundreds of threads that don't have code 84 in them.

Is there something I'm missing?

Search function here doesn't like numbers, or other characters, just letters.

Search works, it keeps you searching forever.
What doesn't work is the finding part.

How about this as a workaround - post a sticky asking everyone to use a dash between the word "code" and the code number, ie. "code-84".
