Hood latch jammed
Hi, I have a problem with a 1995 F150 (XL). I don't know how, but the hood release latch is jammed, it won't open or close. I've tried everything from a prybar to trying to unbolt the release itself, but nothing has worked. Can anyone provide some insight on how to un-jam it?
The inside release doesn't pull forward at all, or pulls forward but doesn't release the hood to the pre release position where the safety latch becomes available for access?
Had same prob on my 94. Acted like the hood was jammed. Pull the latch then go to front of truck and c if you can raise the hood any. If u can try and pull the hood towards the passenger side while releasing the latch. This worked for me. Sometimes they get jammed.
Sometimes having someone press down hard on the hood while pulling the release in the truck works.

The release inside of the cab will pull out, but it does nothing to the hood. The latch must be jammed on something.
Thanks, I'll have to get out and try this tomorrow.

I've got the same problem with the hood not wanting to open. The cable has released and the safety catch is moving, but the hood won't budge. I'm willing to take the latch apart but I can't figure out HOW.
Can anyone help?
