Herculiner
Here in a couple of weeks I am Going to be taking out the crappy drop in bed liner and replacing it with a DIY roll on liner. Any tips or advice on a certain product would be greatly appreciated. I am leaning towards the herculiner brand. Thanks in advance.
My tip... don't use Herculiner. It doesn't hold up well against abuse like LineX does. I've used both; I'll never use Herculiner again.

Line-X or Rhino bed liner are the ones I've had luck with. Heard people didn't get too many great results with Herculiner but I've never used it myself.
Just be sure to scuff out the bed nice and throughout, I use a scuff wheel on a drill and makes it allot faster. Blow out and was out what you scuffed with cleaner and apply many thin coat and build up, not big globs or it dries funny and its uneven and flakes.

I really like my Raptor liner, i sprayed in myself. Only $135 on Amazon w/spray gun and better than the roll on or aerosol stuff. Not quite as good as Line-X but alot less $$. I was quoted $550 at Line-X.
Prep is key with any liner though. Grind off rust or cover with a rust converter, i used Duplicolor rust fix. Then scuff the whole area well, then clean with a wax and grease remover, sometimes called paint prep.

950 because they said every vehicle before 98 has bad paint, so the paint has to be sand blasted off, then they must put primer down and then put the line-x on.
i payed 350 for my ram 1500 short bed, not over the bedrails.

Still a thorough scuffing or wire wheel in some spots shouldn't need a complete sandblast, but ohh well. Would be cheaper if you did it yourself.
