Default Help with Smog/Air pump 95 F150 5.0

I just finished doing a lot of work to my motor and today finally got her fired up. Its a 95 F150 XLT 5.0 with stock exhaust. I think my smog air pump bearings are shot because its squealing like a banshee. I've seen posts were people mention they can remove it? I live in Arkansas and we don't have vehicle inspections. Is this pump beneficial to my engine? Everything is stock on it, nothing after market or performance parts. Everything I've replaced is OEM quality. I don't really feel like dishin out the cash for a rebuilt one from O'Reillys so if I have to I will go to a junk yard and get one from there.

You need it if you have the factory exhaust system. Junkyard would be a very good option.

Picked one up today at junk yard for $20. When I turn it sounds a little dry. Would it be ok to spray some lubricator down the tube to freshen it up?

If you buy a new one it says that lubricating it will void the warranty. Sooo... I would think it to be not a good idea ?

I'd think the same then...I guess lol. Oh well, I have 30 days to return it, if bearings decide to tear up in this one hopefully will do it in that time frame.
