Help please
I have a 90 f150. When I back up to the porch to haul the trash to the landfill shut the truck off. It would not restart. Changed relays under the hood and still nothing. Bypassed inteia switch still nothing. What's next? Please help
It just cranks over. I haven't tried spraying either in the intake because I don't believe in that. I rebuilt this engine with my father and it has a lot of memories with it. It is cammed and bored 30 over but it was running dam good. It would lighten the front of this pickup off the road and then it just quit.
I highly suspect you lost ignition. But I wouldn't replace any parts until I confirmed I lost ignition. Pull a spark plug wire off of the plug and hold it a little ways from the spark plug and watch and listen for spark.
If you find you lost spark, I highly suspect your ignition module on the side of the distributor went dead. I would certainly try or test that ignition module first, as it is very common for that to go dead on 1991 and older Ford trucks with the ignition module on the side of the distributor.

Why would you start by doing that and opening yourself up to another problem? You don't believe in starting fluid? Makes no sense. You could hang a fuel pressure gauge on the rail, if you believe in that. You first have to determine if it's fuel or ignition by doing some diagnostic work.. To start by changing out parts, even if you have them is not the route to go and potentially can create a new problem..
