I just figured out the no spark issue. It was the icm. That I had read its location wrong. I could not verify if it was working with the tests I read on. So I figured I have a spare on my parts vehicle and it wouldn't hurt to change them and try. After replacing it it started right up. But with the truck switched to front tank it sputtered and dies still. Switch backed to the rear and it starts back up.

Doing the Dec self test did not and still doesn't make the check engine light come on. I know I am performing the jumper wire test correctly because I have done this on my parts vehicle and gotten codes from it.

Wondered about that. ICM is remotely mounted for that year I believe. Replacing the Distributor would not replace the ICM. (Although it would take care in the PIP sensor/ Stator inside it.)

i just figured out the no spark issue. it turns out i had misread the location to the icm. for my year model i first read it was located inside the distributor. later i found a better site that said in the distributor is the (pip) and the (icm) is still located on the firewall drivers side. i tested it but could not come to a conclusion with my results of the tests. i have one on my spare parts vehicle so decided to change it and see. after changing it fired right up.

so now its running again.....but

front tank is still not working i believe i just wasted 130 bucks for the fuel pump.

any clue to what i should be checking for the front tank not to work?
its pump still come on when the key it turned to on and stops after the rail has been primed.

If it lights up momentarily during initial Key on, the bulb is good.

Check and see if the front pump is vapor locked. Turn it on and push the valve on the rail and see if any air comes out,may have to do this a few times.
