Default help me please 95 ford

hey everybody love the see all the ford lovers i hate chevy...i am looking at buying a 1995 ford f150 v8 5.0 5 speed 4x4 it has 128000 miles. it for for sale for 4995 i talked him down to 4200. the trucks body is in great shape. the interior is great obvisly the dash has a crack from the sun. i am just wanting it for the winter and to haul my dirt bike is this a good deal? now the engine makes a sound like the lifter is messed up but normally the lifter noise is loud correct. is this a good price

for 5 grand there really shouldnt be anything wrong with the truck, especially something like a noise coming from the engine.

for that price that thing should be in top running shape. i'd steer clear of this truck, i think your going to be asking for problems not to far down the road.

if your looking for just a winter driver and bike hauler, lookfor a 4x4 ranger, for 5 grand you'll get one hell of a nice ranger. make sure it has a 4.0V6 though.

That is way to much for a truck with engine noise. I bought mine for 1000 bucks and it runs like a top!

I once heard a young child ask his mother "Mommy - how much does a car cost?"

She replied, "about $30,000"

A car/truck to me costs $2,000 or LESS

*IF* you choose to pay 5k for a 16 year old truck it had better be in perfect working order - otherwise I think you can find a better overall deal.

I'll second those motions, mine was $1,400 (of course it's an 300 inline 6) and it's a 95 with only quirky lil problems now. Those trucks are on craigslist all the time in the neighborhood of $2,000-$3,000 and that's usually with a helluva lift and 33+ inch tires. Way too much for a 95

I paid $1500 for a 97 4.2 5 speed with 130k miles on it. Yeah that's right 1500$ for the new body style compared to yours.

Eh, glad you got a deal, but I prefer the 95 body style. Reminds me of a simpler time...
Besides that, it still has my beloved 300 inline 6, and still looks like a truck should, lol.

thats pretty low miles, considering the age, i gave 6k for mine almost 8 years ago, and it had 89k miles at the time, with 135k on it now. i would definately get that truck checked out before buying it, since lifter noise isnt very common with the 5.0's. It might just need to have the motor flushed. But overall, 4200 is not a bad price for a 4x4 5.0 in good working order. its probably nothing serious. these motors can take some serious abuse and can still outlast a Rolex watch of the same age. lol

It's probably just the lifters jumping up and Coming back down... It is a roller motor valvetrains are kinda loud. Won't hurt anything. But 4200 is too much I paid 1000$ for my 95 xlt power everything it's loaded had 160k
