I thought the plugs are almost, if not identical. One relay I believe, has a brown base, the other, green. The relay is to synchronize multiple circuits energizing simultaneously & to feed the ECU a clean power flow. as you demonstrated, it will function w/o it, but for how long. If Ford thought it was unnecessary, it wouldn't exist. Does that answer the questions, or did I miss one? It sounds like your saying, your temporarily jumping the fuel relay now?

answered and yes but actualy jumpint the eec electronic engine control relay which is the brown one which also powers the fuel too in turn i first jumped the fuel to see if the pump was good then did a little resurch and read the scematics and jumped the eec whic in turn gave it the fuel and spark i belive but now i have to just time it and i think its 180 degrees out which would affect it correct now i agree entirly with if it was put there it was a reason for it cause they look for cheaper a sayin goes "any one can build a bridge that can stand up but it takes an engineer to build one that just stands up"

The reason the relay is used is because the trigger wire is a smaller gauge and will eventually burn up if used to power the pump. The relay gets full time power directly at the solenoid which powers the pump, the trigger wire just tells the pump to come on but is still a positive signal. Any relay should work, they're all the same but can be wired to work differently.
