From what I see on rockauto, the $99 pump does not include the strainer or the float.

example:
SPECTRA PREMIUM Part # FG144A (Fuel Pump, Float, and Strainer Not Included) Hangar (Fuel Pump, Float, and Strainer Not Included); Driver Side Mount; 16 Gal

Here's one for $146 that includes those parts:

SPECTRA PREMIUM Part # SP2009H Includes Fuel Pump, Sender, Float and Strainer Rear Mount; Plastic Tank; 19 Gal.; Wiring Harness Included

i ordered the airtex pumps the exact same part number and brand that autozone and oreillys is selling. the last one i got from autozone came with the strainer, but not the float, the float is part of the sending unit.

Just the pump doesn't come with the valve that prevents crossfilling, which is known to go bad.

Just the valve is tough to find, although there must be something out there that will work. You would need the whole fuel pump assembly, the whole thing that comes out of the tank which the fuel pump is attached to.

A one way check valve will just prevent fuel from being pumped in the wrong direction of the line it's attached to, which isn't going to happen anyways. Somehow the factory one "feels" the pressure of the running pump and pushes the valve closed for the other tank, or some crap like that. I don't know how it works.

pressure from one pump cuts off return to the other tank i believe is the gist. I have one on the way myself..
