help on auto hubs

Default help on auto hubs

i am replacing the wheel bearings on my 95 f 150 4x4 5.0 and i got to the point where there is a nut around the axel the is holding the whole assembly on and i dont have the special socket to get it off. if you have done it where did you get the socket to take it off.

x2....or in a pinch a hammer and cold chisel....but you'll need the socket to put it back on.....I THINK it's 1 1/16 but can't swear to it.

you can use a punch and a hammer, or check with your parts stores to see if they got axle nut sockets

auto hubs on my 95 have a big nut in the inside,most manual hubs have a small nut with 4 slots in them,either way..... auto parts store!
