OK !! why suggest to load test the Alt if this is happening while the truck is running ? It must be his Batt . then right ??

The old hillbilly load test was to unhook the battery with the motor running, if it died, the alternator was bad, if the battery exploded, and your name was Wally, when your face healed, your freckles were gone.

You can't test it like that anymore. It can fry the alternator.

Alternator needs the battery to keep the field.

A simple way I always looked at it is the battery is a reservoir of electricity for the trucks electrical needs, including the altenator. The alternator keeps the reservoir full.
