Maybe your head gasket is leaking? Is the smoke coming out of the exhaust a whiteish color?

Smell and sometimes an oily substance on windshield, heater core is leaking.

Good morning Bill! Ain't seen you in a while.

Oily substance on windshield? I guess that would end up in occupants lung too.

All it would take is a minute pin hole. Is your truck running hotter than normal?

Could also be pulling from air out of engine compartment & the byproduct of a weak radiator cap. Try running the heater set on recirculate setting, where air comes from the cab. It should either get better if it's from under the hood, or worse if it's the heater coil. I think. I'll find a diagram.

Yea, looks like that makes sense.

no oil on the windshield so thinking it might be goming from the motor
