I have everthing changed from my hub to new brake shoes. the breaks work great but I still hear this swishing sound when i drive down the road and I cant figure out what it is. Oh yeah its been doing this since 98 and its a 96. Has anyone else had this problem? please help the noise is driving me crazy!

Define swishing please. Does it get worse when accelerating? Does it get worse while braking? Where does it seem to be coming from? Can you capture the sound and upload it here? I have heard all kinds sounds from these trucks but swishing is a little vague.

It seems to be coming from the front passenger side wheel or brake. I only hear it when the truck is moving and it seems to get louder when you apply the brake. I looked at the brakes and I dont see anything . Its kind of a scraping sound like a wheel going around and around and makin contact with something over and over. I have new shoes and a new hub on that side of the truck and it still does it.

found problem. I took off the passenger side wheel and saw that the top clip that holds the brake pad was bent back and was rubbing the inside of the wheel.
