Default hard time startin when cold

ok, heres the deal, i have a 95 4.9 5 speed, like if i let it sit over night, it takes forever to start, it cranks fine but just dosnt wanna start, once it warms up, it starts fine, check engine light is on, and i need to fix a ground coming off my black battery cable, and when its crankin, the oil pressure gauge takes a few seconds to show anything, could any of this be related?

Suggest to fix what needs fixin' - the ground cable and whatever is causing the Check Engine light to be on.

As far as being hard to start after sitting overnight - perhaps try to roll the key to On a couple of times before rolling the starter - let the fuel pump do its thing. Don't know why, but it seems to help with mine after it's been sitting awhile.

could a bad oil pressure switch make it hard to start?

Might cause the light to come one, don't think it would cause it not to start.

Did you check the fuel? Bad fuel filter or weak pump could act that way.

X2 on the roll the key to activate the pumps. do this about 10 times, but dont go all the way the ingage the starter. just turn it on wait for the pump to stop running ( about 3 sec) then back off do that about 10 times and then see if it will start.

if that is the problem it is a bad one way check valve in the fuel pump letting the fuel flow back off the motor into the tank.

the only way to fix that problem is replacing the pump.

they make a 16 and a 19 for the side, i've never delt with shortbeds with the dual tanks. but i would imagine it would be the 16 gal one.

***EDIT***
just looked it up on rockauto, they came in 16,17 and 19 gallon tanks
